Information Eve was born in Philadelphia. Her father was a great yet frustrated artist who eventually let his love of painting go. Eve's artistic gifts went unnoticed for much of her young life. Though her father was a skilled painter, she didn't have much interest in Art. Until many years later when she discovered that painting was a suggested therapy for A.D.D..
Because of the turbulence she was experiencing in her life at that time, she gave painting a try. It proved to be more than just therapy it was bliss..."To create something out of thin air , is magic!"

While living in New York, Eve befriended a young Art History student who introduced her to the formal world of Fine Art. She became a student of many modern and classical art movements, particularly les Nabis, les Fauve
and other post-impressionist styles. This fueled her own desire to create and to form her own aesthetic.

Juxtapositions are a connecting thread in all of Eve's work. She explores and exposes the beauty and power that can be derived from contrasting perspectives and opposing points of view. Vintage Hollywood glamour finds a home in Eve's
work as well. As an introverted teen, she spent much of her time getting lost in old Black & White movies, imagining herself the Femme Fatal. She's never been able to shake her attraction for piercing glamour!

Eve explains her work best when she says I've always had a fascination with faces, particularly female , but faces in general. As well as the diversity in all human beings. It always struck me as magical how every single person has two eyes ,a nose , a mouth a chin , "forehead cheeks and such , yet we all look totally different . The idea of racism always bugged me too, How silly must you be to suggest that all blacks are anything or all jews or whites .... it's absurd . The subliminal messages the we get from the media offend me as well , so many people of color feel "ugly" because they do not fit the World wide European standard of beauty. People of color are considered beautiful if they are the ethnic version of a white person. You suspend logic and intellect in order to be believe and perpetuate these poisonous ides. I'm interested in showing the beauty in all colors from the blackest black to the whitest white... and here comes another juxtaposition. there must be whimsy! So, to my social and political ideas I juxtapose My aesthetic! A murky mix of old Hollywood glam, exotic cultures, fantasy, sex, debauchery and spirituality with a touch of poison. In a highball glass , add one ice cube and stir ... gently now....you don't want to bruise this toxic and delicious libation."- Eve Harlowe
